Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U (42 in.)
$799 and up

I
am happy to say, that I own a Sharp Aquos. I really like this product line, and it has been a very reliable T.V. Now for the fun stuff, the Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U has 1080p. That means the Sharp Aquos is at the peak of HD television. 1080 is the best resolution, and definition you can get from a television. The p in 1080p means progressive, which just lets you know that the horizontal lines get laid down in order. Progressive allows for smooth transitioning of frames, not to mention this little gem has a 6ms response time, purely awesome. Did I mention that this Sharp Aquos is 42 inches, nice!
Theater Experience?

hen it comes to audio the movie theater is better, that is unless you get yourself a home theater system. When it comes to clarity, and picture quality the Sharp Aquos is better quality than the local theater. Pair this up with a HD DVD player, or the all mighty Blue-ray and you are in for a treat. The Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U has 2 HDMI inputs, for full digital audio and video. It also has 2 HD component inputs, which is great if you don't have the Xbox 360 elite and want to hook up your Xbox 360.
Gaming Experience
W
hat more can I say than spectacular. Yes this was the way Xbox 360 and PS3 was meant to be played. I can't get enough of the heart pounding intense, high definition graphics that the Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U HD TV pumps out. I happen to have an Xbox 360, and my buddy has a Playstation 3. Let me let you in on a secret, I love the 360 but the one thing that the Playstation 3 has over the Xbox 360 is the Blue-ray DVD player. I have the HD DVD player add-on that you plug into your Xbox 360, and don't get me wrong it works great and looks great, but I just love the look of Blue-ray DVD's. If you have the money, I would get both systems, using the Playstation 3 as a cost efficient alternative to buying a Blue-ray DVD player, and the Xbox 360 as the ultimate gaming system.
Technical Stuff
T
his section is completely optional, I am breaking a rule for once, it just seems right to give technical specs with this product. The Sharp Aquos boasts a 1200:1 contrast ratio with 6ms response time. LCD is always great because the picture does not bleed at crazy angles of viewing. The Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U has a 176° viewing angle, from all directions. Let us not forget resolution, remember this is 1080p so the resolution is 1920 x 1080. Let's talk luminance; the Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U carries a luminance rating of 450 cd/m2, that is 450 candelas per square meter. In laymen's terms, computers typically pump out between 50 - 300 cd/m2. There are plenty of connections for you media fans this television has dual HDMI inputs, Dual HD component inputs, 1 S-Video input, 3 composite inputs, and 4 audio inputs. The speakers are 10w x 2. The Sharp Aquos has a lamp life of 60,000 hours. We can't forget the aspect ratio, which happens to be 16:9. There you have it the technical stuff, on a non-technical review. Don't worry we won't make a habit out of it.
